We firmly believe design and sustainability does not need to cost. The design is not just about aesthetics: the layout or the flow of a scheme are fundamental. The design is about added value: whether it be increased financial value or enhanced quality of life and wellbeing.

We work alongside our clients to create high quality, bespoke schemes that improve the built environment, incorporating sustainable and eco-friendly measures to minimise energy consumption, lower bills and create more comfortable spaces.

Our underlying ethos is that design matters. Design adds value and does not need to cost. We always commence by sitting down with you to discuss your requirements and we then bring added value to a project. This may be by highlighting something that you may not have considered or simply by achieving your goals in a different, better way.

The layout of a scheme or the flow of a house are just as important or more important than aesthetics. A prevalence of light and air are fundamental to a scheme and are essential for well-being. Space also is of great concern to us, just a little extra space can make a big difference. Our developments simply “feel” better than most developments.

Sketch design

When it comes to architectural language our work is very much driven by context, given our wider urban design awareness. We are happy to work in a traditional language with established materials when in a traditional village setting, while also paying heed to our principles of light, air, and space, and creating a scheme that achieves our client’s goals. In city centre and town centre sites, we are equally happy to work in a highly contemporary language with modern materials.

We also take forward our projects by providing the Production Information (Working Drawings) and in securing Building Regulations approvals, as well as running projects on site. To achieve this we make a point of keeping up with all the latest Building Regulations requirements and other technical requirements. We take CPD very seriously, attending many seminars and conferences both at the RIBA and elsewhere.

Build quality and workmanship also are of critical importance.
These days this is essential to meet the rapidly increasing demands of the Building Regulations. It also is important for the satisfaction that can be found in buildings by all parties, not least the occupiers. We enjoy being on site and make a point of visiting site frequently, and establishing a dialogue with builders and tradesmen. It is our experience that we always have found tradesmen to be highly trained professionals who take great care and pride in their work. This runs contrary to the impression given in much of the media.
